All short-term summer or winter programs offered by Westminster affiliates operate as direct enrollment.

Aberystwyth University – Aberystwyth, Wales

Aberystwyth University periodically offers summer opportunities, such as the ‘Identity and Nationhood Summer School,’ a three-week program exploring contemporary politics from Welsh, British, and international perspectives.

Centre International d’Études Françaises (CIDEF) - Angers, France

CIDEF, located at the Université Catholique de l’Ouest (UCO), is a renowned language training institute offering intensive summer programs in French. Participants study alongside other non-native speakers for one week to one month, beginning in July. The full-month program entails 80 contact hours and students receive a certificate upon completion. Outside of class, summer CIDEF students participate in organized cultural activities, sports, and excursions.

Hanyang University – Seoul, South Korea

Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) is one of Korea’s leading summer programs. Over four weeks, HISS offers world-class education and a variety of unique cultural experiences tailored towards international students. Participants can select a maximum of three courses from ten different subject areas including Korean Language, International Studies, and Business. Past cultural activities have included a Nanta show, Korean cooking class, DMZ tour, and the Mud Festival. Hanyang University also offers a two- or four-week winter program (HIWS).

Kansai Gaidai University – Hirakata, Japan

The Asian Studies Summer Program offers a well-rounded introduction to Japanese language and culture. Combining semi-intensive language classes with a series of lectures and site visits, participants gain a basic understanding of Japanese language and society. The program is designed to cover a wide range of topics—from Japanese pop culture and current political issues to time-honored traditions and history. The Summer Program is offered over six weeks in June–July when local students are still on campus, allowing for engaging interactions. Cultural activities include field trips to Kyoto, Nara and Osaka.

Recently, Kansai Gaidai has also offered a Manga Art Institute over the summer. No prior art or Japanese language experience is required to enroll in this program.

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) – London, UK

LSE Summer School is an unbeatable opportunity to share in a tradition of academic rigor and prestige. Three intensive sessions (of three weeks each) are offered each summer, and students can elect to enroll in one, two, or all. Courses are offered from a range of disciplines including Business and Management, Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, International Relations, and more. Included in the program are excursions around London plus day trips to Cambridge and Oxford.

La Universidad de Oviedo - Oviedo, Spain

The University of Oviedo offers a generously priced five-week, 150-hour intensive Spanish language course from late May to late June as well as a four-week, 120-hour course in July—students are welcome to take either or both. The University also offers a July program specifically for heritage speakers who lack formal education in the language. Oviedo facilitates accommodation with local families to foster students’ linguistic, cultural, and community integration.

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) – Milan, Italy 

Università Cattolica's summer and winter programs are ideal to get a taste of the traditional Italian educational context. In summer, students can customize their program length anywhere from two weeks to two months and choose from a variety of disciplines including Business, Sports Science, Cultural Studies, Marketing, Education, and Psychology. Winter courses last two to three weeks. Cattolica’s location in the heart of Milan gives students prime access to local cultural centers, fashion shows, operas, and exhibitions.

University of East Anglia – Norwich, England

Programs vary for the University of East Anglia’s Summer University, but recent years have seen course offerings in Business, Sustainable Development, Art, Literature, and Creative Writing.
