George Robert Sido, ’42 ΒΘΠ, of St. Louis, Missouri, on July 26, 2022. A Westminster graduate in economics, Sido earned a master’s degree in organic chemistry from Washington University in 1944. He then served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during WWII, where he specialized in anti-submarine warfare and retired as a lieutenant. Sido spent most of his career at Monsanto, subsequently leading safety labeling initiatives in the chemical industry and helping found the American Conference on Chemical Labeling. In retirement, Sido supported the Midwestern Braille Volunteers, helping create tactile maps. A lifelong golfer, he last competed in the St. Louis Senior Olympics in May 2023.

William H. Jordan, ’43 KA, of Aiken, South Carolina, on Jan. 29, 2022

Baxter B. Watson, ’44 ΔΤΔ, of St. Louis, Missouri, on Jan. 3, 2023. Watson helped Winston Churchill during his 1946 “Iron Curtain” speech at Westminster, ensuring the statesman did not trip on his robe, and captured a famous photo of the British Bulldog with President Truman. A Hatton, Missouri, native and cousin of President “Bullet” McClure, Watson assisted Charles F. “Dog” Lamkin with A Great Small College while a student. He later studied fine arts at Washington University and worked in interior design. He enjoyed photography, history, antiques, and researching his Scottish roots.

Champion “Travis” Traylor, Jr., ’45 KA, of Houston, Texas, on Sept. 9, 2022. He studied economics at Westminster and earned a BBA from the University of Houston. A WWII Navy veteran, he co-founded Union Mortgage Investment Company and later served as chair and CEO of both that firm and First General Realty. He also founded several financial institutions, including Parkway National Bank and Clear Lake Savings Association. Traylor led the Houston and Texas Mortgage Bankers Associations and received the Distinguished Service Award. He served on Westminster’s Board of Trustees for 19 years and was an emeritus member for 29 more.

Francis “Frank” Saucier, ’48 ΒΘΠ, of Amarillo, Texas, on March 3, 2025. Saucier earned a degree in mathematics from Westminster just after serving in the U.S. Navy. He then played minor and major league baseball, famously playing for the St. Louis Browns. His legacy led to Westminster’s Saucier Field being named in his honor. In his lifetime, Saucier experienced a successful career in oil and gas, finance, and investment management. Saucier is a former Westminster Board of Trustees member. His son, John, ’78 ΒΘΠ, and granddaughter, Alexandra L. (Saucier) Schaber, ’09 ΚΚΓ, are also Westminster graduates.

After serving as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, he experienced a successful global career with Hewlett Packard. He later served as Cargill’s corporate vice president of information technology until his retirement in 2002. Taylor served 10 years on Westminster’s Board of Trustees and 27 as an emeritus member. He supported America’s National Churchill Museum and served on several nonprofit and corporate boards.

J. David Veitch, ’73 ΦΔΘ, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Oct. 21, 2025. Veitch graduated from Westminster in 1973 with a degree in theology and political science. He married Ginger (Moore) in 1974 and then built a successful career as a stockbroker, security analyst, wealth manager, and financial advisor. Most recently, Veitch worked for Raymond James & Associates, forming the Veitch Legacy Team with his brother, Scott, ’86 ΣΧ; and son, William Andrew “Drew,” ’05 ΒΘΠ. In his lifetime, Veitch faithfully supported Westminster in a number of ways, including as a member of the College’s Board of Trustees. In addition to family members Scott and Andrew, Veitch’s father, William, ’49 KA, and uncle, John, ’50 KA, also graduated from Westminster.

*Before his death, G. Robert Sido, ’42 ΒΘΠ, was believed to be the oldest living member of the Skulls of Seven, a fact that was mistakenly attributed to Baxter B. Watson, ’44 ΔΤΔ, in the 2021-2022 edition of Leadership magazine. Watson died less than a year after Sido. The two were among the last remaining alumni from the Greatest Generation.
