New Student Forms
SOAR
Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration
At SOAR you will learn more about academic and student life opportunities at Westminster from members of the Westminster community. You will also have a one-on-one session with an academic advisor who will help you register for your fall classes.
Move-In and New Student Welcome
New Student Welcome will introduce incoming students to Academics and Student Life at 51视频! Before fall classes begin for all students, new students will meet their peer mentors, begin their Westminster Seminar and Leader Within courses, and learn about campus programs and resources.
Move-in Dates/Times
- New Student Fall Athlete Move-in: August 12th from 8-10am
- Returning Fall Athlete Move-in: August 12th from 10am-12pm
- New Student Move-in: August 16th from 9-12pm
- *Commuter Students check-in from 11:00am-12:00pm
Day 1 Schedule
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
New Student Move-In and Check-In — Mueller Student Center
During check-in, you’ll stop by multiple offices on campus and finalize any last-minute paperwork. You’ll need your Welcome Passport marked at each table, so please be sure to visit them all. You’ll get your passport at the first table. Living on campus? This is where you will pick up your room key, too! Moving can be tough, so you’ll see many returning students helping move students into their new rooms.

Commuter Students Check-In — Mueller Student Center
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Lunch — Backer Dining Room
Meals are free for all new students—including first-year, transfer, and commuter students. (Commuter students will need to present their meal ticket – provided at check-in.) Family members may purchase meals at the door.
4:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
President’s Reception for Parents, Families, and Friends — JCI (Lower-level of the Hunter Activity Center–HAC)
Parents, friends, and family, please join Westminster President Don Lofe for refreshments as he shares the history of Westminster’s Skulls of Seven and the Columns and Convocation Ceremony.
4:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Skulls of Seven Meeting with All New Students* — Champ Auditorium
Welcome to this long-standing Westminster student tradition! New students will meet with the Skulls of Seven to receive instructions in preparation for the Columns and Convocation Ceremony. Business casual attire is required for students. Incoming students only. Please arrive no later than 4:15 p.m.
4:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
New Student Columns and Convocation Ceremony* — The Columns
Students will walk to The Hill for the Columns and Convocation Ceremony—a cherished Westminster tradition. Families and friends are encouraged to gather near the columns for photos as students are officially welcomed into the Westminster Community. After the ceremony, we’ll return to Champ Auditorium for Convocation.
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Farewell Dinner — Backer Dining Room
While many families choose to head home after the Convocation Ceremony, Backer Dining Hall will serve dinner. All new students eat at no cost, and families or friends can purchase their meal at the door.
7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Res Hall Meetings* (residential students only) — In front of each Quad Building
Get to know your Residential Assistants (RAs), suitemates, and other new Blue Jays in your Residence Hall. We’ll review important hall policies & information.
8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Glowcery Bingo with CAB! — Mueller Student Center
Who doesn’t need extra snacks, laundry detergent, and general groceries for their room? Winning at Bingo may mean one less trip to the stores.
New and Transfer Student Convocation
New Student Convocation is a beloved tradition at Westminster that officially marks the beginning of your individual journey at the College. As you pass through the historic Columns, you enter into a respected, time-honored tradition.
